Alright, fellow Tarnished, gather 'round. Let's talk about one of Elden Ring's most infamous mind-benders – the Leyndell Catacombs. Forget the breathtaking vistas of the Lands Between for a sec; we're diving deep, deep down into the Royal Capital's frustratingly brilliant underbelly. This place? It's the definition of "optional but oh-so-tempting." Why? Because it hides some of the game's juiciest talismans, including the legendary Lord of Blood's Exultation. But be warned, this dungeon doesn't play fair. It's a labyrinth designed to make you question your own sanity, a series of near-identical rooms that'll have you running in circles screaming, "Haven't I been here before?!" Spoiler: You probably have. But don't sweat it! By 2026, we've got this place mapped out. Consider this your survival guide to conquering the confusion and claiming the loot.

🗺️ How To Find This Headache (I Mean, Dungeon)

First things first, you gotta get there. The name gives it away – it's under Leyndell, Royal Capital. The cool part? You can still access it even after Leyndell gets... well, ashen. So no rush, visit whenever the mood for punishment strikes.

  1. Start at the Sewers: Head to the Avenue Balcony Site of Grace. Nearby, you'll find a well. Yep, that's your ticket down into the lovely Subterranean Shunning-Grounds. Enjoy the ambiance!

  2. Navigate the Gunk: Work your way through until you hit the Underground Roadside Site of Grace. From here, things get a bit more... crawfishy.

  3. The Descent: Leave the grace room and look northeast for a ladder. Go down, and carefully navigate to the bottom area. You'll be greeted by the local wildlife: two absolutely massive, and very unfriendly, Giant Crayfish. Talk about a crustacean situation.

  4. The Entrance: Deal with the first one, then look southeast. You should spot the catacomb entrance. But hold up! The second crayfish is lurking right by the door, ready to ambush. Classic FromSoftware move. Get past them, enter, and immediately turn right to find the Leyndell Catacombs Site of Grace. Phew, checkpoint secured!

🔄 The Walkthrough: Breaking the Loop

Here's the secret sauce: This dungeon has three nearly identical sections. You'll feel like you're in a time loop, but each "loop" progresses you forward. Don't panic. Just follow the breadcrumbs (and this guide).

Section 1: The First Deja Vu

  • Head down from the grace, past a sealed gate, into a room with a coffin. Enemies will drop on you – surprise! 😅

  • Go up the stairs, clear a room with three baddies, and loot a Grave Glovewort (6) from a corpse.

  • Leave, turn left, and proceed until you hit a fire trap. Pro tip: Disable it from afar with Margit's Shackle or a bow. Then, jump on the pillar to reactivate it. This is important for later!

  • Upstairs, an Omen guards the Crucible Scale Talisman. Grab it!

  • Backtrack to the trap room, go left up the stairs to the second floor. Watch for a patrolling Omen upstairs! Deal with it and grab the Grave Glovewort (9).

  • Follow the corridor to the end. You'll look down into... the same coffin room from the start! Feels like a dead end, right? Wrong. Jumping down is the key. This transports you to Section 2.

Section 2: The Fake-Out Boss Room

  • Enemies rise from the water as you land. Clear them and loot the Grave Glovewort (8) from the side room.

  • Go down the northwest corridor. You'll find an open "boss room" with no boss—just two Omens, a Grave Glovewort (8), and a Gold Rune (11). You can skip this if you want.

  • Return to the central coffin room. New stairs will have appeared! They lead to an area that looks exactly like the fire trap room from Section 1. Spooky.

  • Approach the trap pillar but DON'T jump on it yet. First, take the right corridor for a Grave Glovewort (8), then go upstairs.

  • Upstairs, you'll find an Omen... mourning? It's a trick. Kill it, go to the corridor's end, and you'll overlook the coffin room again. This third version only has one exit. Take it to enter Section 3.

Section 3: The Final Stretch & The Real Boss

  • Go up the stairs, into a room with enemies and a Grave Glovewort (8).

  • Leave, turn left, head towards the (now familiar) fire trap area, grabbing another Grave Glovewort (8) on the way.

  • The trap room is now empty... or is it? An Omen will ambush you from above! Be ready.

  • After dealing with it, leave the room, turn left, and jump through a window to loop back to a part of Section 2.

  • Turn around, go downstairs to the junction. Now, step onto the fire trap pillar to ascend.

  • Upstairs is a room identical to the Crucible Talisman room. It looks empty, but go in to find a corridor with two Imps. Handle them.

  • At the far end of this room, find a ladder and climb down.

  • Follow the corridor to finally, finally find the lever for the boss door! Loot the Sacramental Bud nearby and pull that lever.

👹 Boss Fight: Esgar, Priest of Blood

  • The boss himself isn't too tough, but he brings two very angry dogs to the party. Things get chaotic fast.

  • Priority #1: Kill the dogs. Seriously, deal with them first unless you enjoy being nibbled to death while dodging blood spells.

  • Once the pooches are down, focus on Esgar. He's squishier than he looks. Defeat him, and claim your prize: the mighty Lord of Blood's Exultation talisman. Worth the headache? Absolutely.

💎 Bonus Loot & The Great Escape

You think you're done? Not quite! There's one more shiny waiting.

  • Fast travel back to the Leyndell Catacombs Site of Grace.

  • Instead of going forward, turn right and step on the elevator.

  • Upstairs, you'll find respawning spirits. My 2026 advice? Don't even bother. Just ignore them.

  • As soon as you're up, bolt to the right. Run past the spirits to find a Spirit-Caller Snail and a corpse holding the Halidrake Talisman +1. Snatch it!

  • Kill the snail to stop the spirit spam, then head upstairs to unlock a shortcut door back to the Subterranean Shunning-Grounds. A clean exit after a messy adventure.

And there you have it! The Leyndell Catacombs in all its convoluted glory. It's a test of patience and memory, but the rewards—two powerful talismans and enough Grave Glovewort to make your spirit summons happy—are totally worth the trip. Just remember the golden rule: when in doubt, jump down. Now go get that loot, Tarnished! 🏆
